About:

I am advocating for Native American culture and appreciation of its elements, beliefs, and traditions. This film is inspired by the Dineh or "Navajo" Nation and aspects of their belief system that maintains harmony on Mother Earth. I am calling to raise the level of awareness and respect of indigenous people and how their culture cannot continue to be overlooked and forgotten- that there is truth and beauty within it.

I studied elements from traditional dances open to the public eye (Powwos) because many traditional dances are kept within the tribes and are therefore reserved for indingeous people to perform. I am currently researching how to abstract the movement so it is respectful and does not become appropriated.
